Aquarium care affects living animals, so accuracy matters. This page explains how Studio Scaped produces and maintains its guides, and how to tell us when something is wrong.
Care recommendations are grounded in established aquarium and ichthyology references — species databases, peer-reviewed sources, manufacturer specifications, and hands-on fishkeeping experience. Where parameters (tank size, temperature, pH, diet) are given, we aim to reflect the consensus of reputable sources rather than a single opinion.
Profiles are checked for internal consistency — for example, that a species’ scientific name, water type, and recommended parameters agree throughout the article. We run automated quality checks across the site to catch contradictions and out-of-date figures, and we are actively reviewing and correcting older profiles.
We use software tools, including AI, to help draft and structure some content. All such material is intended to be reviewed and corrected against reputable sources before it represents a care recommendation. We treat factual accuracy as our responsibility regardless of how a draft was produced.
