Canadian Lakes
Glacial lakes across boreal forests and prairies; clean, clear waters, sand and gravel substrates, and water lilies and pondweeds.

Natural Habitat & Origin
Forged by ancient glaciers and set against the vast, silent backdrop of the boreal forest, Canadian Lakes are monuments of pristine, cool-water clarity. These are expansive bodies of water where the sky is reflected in a mirror of deep blue, and the air is scented with pine and damp earth. The water is soft and clean, flowing over beds of granite gravel and fine glacial sands that have remained undisturbed for millennia.
Beneath the surface, the Canadian Lake biotope is a world of quiet, rhythmic growth. In the sheltered bays and shallow margins, vast floating gardens of water lilies spread across the surface, their long stems reaching down into the nutrient-rich sediments. This is a biome defined by the seasons—the intense, light-filled summers that trigger a burst of life, and the long, frozen winters that bring a profound, icy stillness to the depths. It is a minimalist landscape of incredible purity, where Every stone and stem feels perfectly placed in the vast, wild mosaic of the North.
Plants
Indigenous to the cool, clear waters of the North, these species thrive in the soft, slightly acidic conditions of Canada's glacial lake margins.
