Natural Habitat & Origin
Freshwater and brackish streams of Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia and the Philippines.
Care Requirements
Keep Horned Nerite Snail at 22-28°C with a pH of 7.0-8.2. Identical to other nerites — hard, alkaline water and a secure lid. Its small size suits tanks from 20 litres upward.

Diet & Feeding
Grazes film algae and biofilm. The small mouth handles soft algae better than the hard green spot varieties.
Behaviour & Temperament
Peaceful and slow-moving. The projecting horns catch on fine mesh, so avoid tight intake guards.
Tank Mates
Excellent in nano tanks with shrimp and small fish. Avoid anything large enough to swallow it whole.
Breeding
Will not breed in fresh water; larvae require brackish conditions.
